The joints of the fingers are commonly referred to as knuckles.  They are very small when compared to the other joints of the body.  The arrangement of joints and ligaments is complex.  This means you will feel even the slightest inflammation as stiffness.  Just because the joints are small does not mean you won’t feel pain.  Finger joints that are inflamed can result in excruciating pain.  Those who suffer from this pain have described the pain as shooting.

If you happen to have arthritis in the hands then you are experiencing pain.  Finger joints that are affected by arthritis will be inflamed.  Inflammation can cause such severe pain that the hands can hardly be used.  In very severe cases the fingers can look deformed.  There are drugs that can be used to treat this complaint as well as natural remedies.
