During pregnancy it’s very normal to experience hip pain and it’s because the joints of the hips are relaxing. Your brain actually releases a hormone called relaxin that acts on the ligaments of the pelvis and causes them to relax which hopefully is going to increase the inner diameter of your pelvis and help the baby fit through better during labor and delivery. It’s very normal to experience hip pain and like your hips are going to pop out of joint and that’s what causes the pregnancy waddle that we all know and have seen or maybe even done. But you also mentioned that you have fibromyalgia so that adds an extra issue on top of the issues that normally come with pregnancy. You mentioned that you’ve tried Tylenol and it’s just not helping. Stretching is the only other thing I can think of other than heat packs that you mentioned to help with the pain. Talk to your doctor at your next appointment and they can discuss with you any other options and also show you in person stretching exercises that may help to alleviate some pain that you’re feeling in your hips. Good luck with everything. Hang in there and know that it will come to an end once the pregnancy is finished.
